Amber Mica panels; created in the same method of combining translucent mica with shellac utilized by Dirk Van Erp in 1910; are suspended in a Mahogany bronze finished mission style frame. This handsome oblong table lamp; with Mahogany Bronze hand finished metal; will warm your home with the glow of the Amber panels.
A genuine Mica shaded console lamp for under $300 and Meyda Lighting, a very high-end company, has it. Meyda made the Mica panels just like Dirk Van Erp did in 1910. They also made the console base of structural steel finished in an authentic Mahogany Bronze. Console lamps also known as Library lamps were very popular in the 1920's, 1930's, 1950's and 1960's but fell out of fashion before their revival in the 21st Century. The reason for the revival…the sense of authenticity and permanence they give. Meyda's reproduction is 20" tall, 16" wide and 11" deep. It takes 2 x 40-watts on quality pullchains, but the lamp design screams for 2x 11-watt LED bulbs giving off about 150-watts in conventional terms. This is a great and authentic craftsman lamp and at the price cannot be beat.
